Background:
Mitch Huggett. You might have heard of him. Tall, handsome, lean. Plays in the major leagues for the Goldenrod Gengars, winner of the MVP award in the Johto League last year. “Switch it Mitch”, the crowd chants, as he switches batting hands for the appropriate pitcher, and his parents look on with fondness as their darling son, their pride and joy, goes on to win another game for his team, his city, and his family.

Johanna has always lived in her brother’s shadow.

Second child, and from birth she was never going to be the apple of her parents eyes - they loved her, of course, what parent doesn’t, but they always held Mitch in such high regard. As they grew older, their differences became so much clearer - Mitch was strong, active, participated in all kinds of sports, while Johanna absorbed herself in books, skinny legs and all. Their parents were athletes, and they hung Mitch’s trophies all over the house, put his first baseball bat up on the wall.

Right above Johanna’s bed, since there was no room anywhere else.

They became young adults. Mitch attended a sport institute, scholarships, the whole deal. Johanna went to the Goldenrod university to earn her degree, try and find a place in the world. Something that she could do as well as her brother. But attending classes was never her strong suit, and despite being exceptional academically, she was lazy, willing to slide by in her assessment, rarely going to class to do more than hand in an assignment. High marks, of course, but her grades never reflected her true potential, much to the despair of her professors.

When graduation came, Professor Sassafras gave her a gift - a pokeball, with a note that said, “You two were made for each other.” And so Johanna gained her first pokemon, Donburi the Munchlax. A powerful little man, but with a complete lack of focus, often wandering off in the middle of a fight to look for something to eat, or investigate a smell.

Professor Sassafras always did have a strange sense of humour.

When a package came from her brother soon after graduation, she thought perhaps it was a gift, some token of recognition for what she had done. Instead, she found a Devon Ticket, a note which simply implied he was too busy with his career and sponsors, and thought she would have the free time to go off and use the ticket for whatever it was intended.

The last thing she packed with her was that baseball bat that had been over her bed for so many years.

Physicalities:
Johanna is a short girl, barely reaching five and a half feet when she has shoes on, and doesn’t try to accentuate or mask her height with any tricks of hair or clothing. Auburn hair down to her shoulders, green eyes, and a relatively pale complexion mark her other physical features. Depending on the weather, Johanna will most likely be wearing a brown leather jacket and a pair of jeans, protection from her (often mistaken) explorations of unknown territory in search of knowledge or new information. Her satchel is always close at hand, and so too is that baseball bat - though she’s hardly skilled with it, she doesn’t seem to ever want it out of her sight.
